“Unmelted Places“ is a series of works created during the quarantine period and it is a sequel of another series made during the first quarantine. The first series of artworks took place exclusively in my balcony, whereas this one in my Athenian terrace. In ‘unmelted places’ I continue to explore the subject of other-than-human forms of intelligence inhabiting places traditionally known to be used by humans, only this time having in mind the movement restriction and self-isolation. Shot in my house using my mobile to capture the built environment and a 3D software (Cinema 4D) to create and bring these non-human life forms to life.

Kakia Konstantinaki (b. 1986) is an artist and multidisciplinary designer based between London and Athens, who holds an MA in Communication Design from Central Saint Martins and a BA in Architectural Engineering from the Technical University of Crete. Throughout the years, Kakia has worked as a visual artist, on personal and commissioned projects.
